Prophet Dr Ub Rene is one of the few father's in the land who is very humble and does not carry himself high despite his position and level in ministry. He is one of the great teachers of the gospel in this land. PBCLICOAN has been operating for over 2 decades with a TV station running and has many branches all over Cameroon and overseas. (More will be shared in part 2)

In a recent powerful interview on TREASURE TV CAMEROON which is own by the ministry, Prophet UB Rene opened up about his journey from a terrible accident to answering a supernatural call.

Here is the complete timeline of his early life, his radical encounter with God, and how his ministry was born! 👇

👤 THE MAN BEHIND THE VISION ( Ubreneministries )

Roots: Born and raised in the Northwest Region of Cameroon. He hails from Ngie village in the Momo Division.

Family Life: Raised in a family of 5 (he is the 2nd child). Today, he is a dedicated husband to Rev Rose and a father to 7 biological children.

Early Ambitions: Originally, Prophet UB Rene never planned on being a pastor! His family was actively working and praying to send him to the United States to study Mass Communication or International Law & Justice.

THE CRASH & THE ULTIMATUM (1999–2000)

February 16, 1999: A violent bicycle accident in Mbengwi nearly claimed his life. Lying at the crash scene, he heard a terrifyingly clear, audible voice say: "My son Rene, repent. If not, something more dangerous than this will happen to you."

With fears that the world would end on January 1, 2000, Rene at that time made a deal with God: If I survive to see the year 2000, I will surrender.

Exactly at midnight on January 1, 2000, he gave his life to Christ.

🛑 PERSECUTION & THE "TORMENTING ANGEL" (2001–2003)

The Cost of Growth: His radical spiritual growth didn't fit into the traditional church systems of his hometown, leading to heavy persecution from church authorities and his family, who eventually sent him away to Muyuka, South West Region.

In Muyuka 2002, he continued his Advance Level and follow his persuade to go to America but then the voice returned with a command: "Go to Kumba and deliver my people." Desiring his American dream instead, Rene forcefully rejected the call.

Because of his refusal, Rene describes being physically pursued and tormented during prayer by an angel carrying a cane, telling him his prayers wouldn't be answered until he obeyed. He would unexpectedly run out of rooms in fear, causing friends to think he was losing his mind. Surprisingly, the moment he finally surrendered to the call, the angel left and never returned till date.

🏍️ STEPPING INTO FAITH & STREET MINISTRY (2003)

The man of God dropped out of high school, briefly becoming an okada (commercial motorcycle) rider—carrying his own former classmates and teachers to school while he prepared for ministry.

On August 18, 2003: He moved to Kumba to enter the Cameroon Baptist Seminary. After a 3-day fast, God confirmed: "This is the city, stay here for I have work here for you."

He began hitting the streets of Kumba, shouting the gospel at dawn with a megaphone, which eventually opened doors for him to preach on local radio stations in the city.

⛩️ THE DESTRUCTION OF THE SHRINE & THE BIRTH OF A CHURCH (2004)

August 10, 2004: During his first year at the seminary, a native doctor in Limbe gave her life to Christ and begged for her physical idol shrine on Paradise Street in Kumba to be torn down.

Prophet Rene and a senior seminary teacher went and physically destroyed the shrine. Standing on the veranda of that very compound right after the demolition, the voice spoke again: "Begin a church here, call the name of the church Paradise Baptist Church."

Despite having no money for fees and severe financial stress, he obeyed and the church began with just 4 people in a family parlor, grew to 60 in a local government school, and eventually expanded into a multi-room facility.

Today, they're not only 60 members or in a parlour but own a big city call PARADISE CITY at 3 Corners Fiango, Mahole Road. Watch out for part 2 which will reveal to you many things how group of pastors gathered to burry a cow just to frustrate this vision and many more.

Takeaway: Prophet UB Rene’s story reminds us that when God calls, our personal plans—no matter how big—must bow. It takes endurance, focus, and radical obedience to move when you only have a Voice to guide you!
