SETTING YOUR EYES ON THE FINISH LINE.

SETTING YOUR EYES ON THE FINISH LINE.

1. Do not compete with others if you don’t know what they do in secret. Unhealthy competition will hinder your ministry. Surround yourself with people who encourage you, not those who intimidate you.

2. Do not study the Bible seeking new revelations to prove to others that you have more knowledge. Read the Bible to increase your faith in God. Your faith is the greatest revelation that you know God.

3. If you feel the need to impress someone before they become your mentor, then they are not really your mentor; they are merely an ATM machine. It is foolish to seek to impress your helper and mentor.

4. If they are not pointing you to Jesus, they are pointing you to themselves. Avoid joining a Pentecostal fraternity in search of a mentor or belonging to a group of “most successful” ministers. Once you allow yourself to be dragged in, your life will revolve around a “better than my neighbor” mindset in Christianity.

5. Focus on living out the Word rather than merely quoting the Bible. After quoting Ephesians and Philippians, people want to see what you are actually doing.

6. Be a giver, be a blessing, be a lifter, be a lover, and most importantly, be a believer.

7. Reduce your number of friends; keep some as acquaintances. RUN AWAY FROM PEOPLE WHO CRITICIZE THE BODY OF CHRIST AND INTRODUCE NEW DOCTRINES. Avoid gossipers and traitors.

8. Never preach against what Jesus preached. Do not speak against giving to the work of God. The Lord Himself knows how to handle unfaithful servants.

9. Keep your eyes on Jesus and follow mentorship that, through sound doctrine, will keep you in faith with Him. Run away from tribal Christianity. Mentorship has nothing to do with tribe or other sentiments.

10. If honorarium is their primary motivation, do not honor them with your pulpit.

You will finish well not by doing your own thing, but by doing His thing. Soul winning should be your priority.
