Over the past few weeks, my page has grown significantly, and with that growth has come an increasing number of theological discussions. Some have agreed with my teachings. Others have disagreed strongly. A few have even concluded what I believe without ever asking me.
So perhaps it is time to introduce myself—not merely as a person, but by the convictions that shape my ministry.
I’m Lawrence Ngano, founder and lead pastor of Revival Waves Global, a non denominational ministry based in Douala, Cameroon π¨π²
πFirst and foremost, I am unapologetically Christ-centred. I believe the Bible from Genesis to Revelation points ultimately to one Person, Jesus Christ (Luke 24:27). Every doctrine, every type, every shadow, every prophecy finds its fulfillment in Him.
πI believe that salvation is entirely by grace through faith apart from human works (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 3:28; Titus 3:5). Man contributes absolutely nothing to his justification before God except the sin that made salvation necessary. Christ accomplished everything required for our redemption on the Cross.
πI believe in the finished work of Christ. When Jesus cried, “It is finished” (John 19:30), He was not announcing the possibility of redemption but the completion of it. His sacrifice was once and for all (Hebrews 10:10–14). Nothing can be added to it, and nothing should be taken away from it.
πI believe in the assurance and security of the believer. I believe eternal life is exactly what Jesus called it, eternal (John 10:27–29). I believe those whom God justifies, He also glorifies (Romans 8:29–30). I believe Christ is not only the Author of our faith but also its Finisher (Hebrews 12:2). I believe He who began the good work will complete it (Philippians 1:6). My confidence is not in my ability to hold on to Christ, but in Christ’s ability to hold on to me.
Does that mean I believe Christians should live carelessly?
Absolutely not.
πI believe holiness is essential, but I do not believe holiness is the basis of our acceptance before God. Holiness is the fruit of salvation, not the price of salvation. Grace does not encourage sin; grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts (Titus 2:11–12). A transformed life is the evidence of a transformed heart.
πI believe that good works are necessary, not as the means of obtaining salvation but as its inevitable product. We are not saved by works, but we are saved unto good works (Ephesians 2:10). Obedience does not make us sons; it is what sons do.
πI believe in repentance, not merely as sorrow for sin but as a Spirit-produced change of mind that results in a changed life. Repentance is not the enemy of grace; it is one of grace’s greatest gifts (Acts 11:18).
πI believe in the absolute authority and sufficiency of Scripture. Every doctrine must be examined contextually, grammatically, historically, and Christologically. We must not build theology on isolated verses but on the whole counsel of God. Exegesis must always take precedence over assumption.
πI believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit, revival, prayer, evangelism, discipleship, sound doctrine, and the local church. I believe God still heals, still delivers, still transforms lives, and still calls men and women into ministry for the edification of His Church.
πI also believe that disagreement among sincere believers should never degenerate into slander, insults, or the demonization of one another. We sharpen one another through Scripture, not through caricatures. If you disagree with me, open the Bible. Show me the text. Let’s reason together. Truth has never been afraid of examination.
πFinally, I am not interested in building a following around myself. My assignment is to point men to Christ, to preach His Gospel faithfully, to disciple believers into maturity, and to equip the saints for the work of ministry.
You are free to disagree with my conclusions. Iron sharpens iron. But one thing you will never hear me apologize for is exalting the sufficiency of Christ. If I must err, let it never be because I made too much of Jesus.
Welcome to my page.
Let’s search the Scriptures together, contend for the faith with humility, and above all, keep Christ at the centre of everything.
