REV BOBBS LYONGA HAS THIS TO SAY ABOUT OUR MOTHER, MAMA MARY MANDI ( Cameroonian guitarist and gospel music legend)

He wrote;
The Mama Mary Mandi I used to hear about and the one I came to know after she shared her story are two very different people. My God… this woman has carried so much sacrifice and pain, yet so little of it is known. She truly deserves far more honour than she has received so far.

Mama Mary Mandi is a true symbol of sacrifice.

When an apostolic mother, pioneer, veteran, and trailblazer of Cameroonian gospel music speaks of her journey and can only say repeatedly, “It wasn’t easy,” you begin to understand the depth of the price she paid. Her suffering became the seed for the freedom and expression the Church in Cameroon enjoys in gospel music today.

She was once suspended and placed on the back bench for three months, not for imm'0'rality, not for dis0rder, not for wrongdoing, but simply for honouring God through the production of a gospel album. Such was the cost of obedience in an unprepared generation.

It is my sincere conviction that Cameroonian gospel artists carry a moral and spiritual responsibility to rise and honour the legacy of this living monument of Cameroonian gospel music, not with words alone, but with tangible actions worthy of her labour and sacrifice.
