Rev. Dr. Dieunedort Kamdem Nounga was born into an animist family in Baleng, Western Cameroon. According to his own testimony, his Christian journey began dramatically at the age of 11, when he was said to have been bewitched, declared clinically dead, and miraculously restored to life.
Filled with early zeal, he became actively involved in youth fellowships of the Charismatic Renewal, a path that soon placed him at odds with his family. At just 17 years old, he was consecrated as a pastor after obtaining a theology diploma, an unusually early ordination that marked the beginning of a rapid ministerial ascent.
On June 27, 2010, Rev. Kamdem Nounga founded what would become his flagship ministry, the Cathedral of Faith, officially opened on July 4, 2010 and rapidly grew to approximately 2,500 members, sustaining three well-attended services every Sunday. He quickly emerged as a model of modern Cameroonian Pentecostal success.
Rev. Kamdem Nounga was among the first indigenous pastors in Cameroon to adopt American-style evangelistic crusades, characterized by extensive poster campaigns, media visibility, and city-wide publicity. Beyond the Cathedral of Faith, he founded several affiliated institutions, including Faith Covenant Ministries International, Prophetic Army of God Outreach (PAGO), and the Faith Bible Institute.
Over time, he gained recognition as a visionary leader, international conference speaker, teacher, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and prophetic voice, frequently described by supporters as a “prophet to the nations” with a passion for positioning the Church to engage meaningfully with post-modern society.
Academically, his profiles indicate that he holds a Doctorate in Sociology and a PhD in Philosophy in Theology. He became a sought-after minister for revival programs across different countries and authored several books that circulated widely within charismatic and Pentecostal circles.
Institutionally, the Cathedral of Faith expanded into Christian media, establishing DUNAMIS FM radio, KANODI TV, and DUNAMIS Magazine. Sources close to the ministry frequently emphasized that Rev. Kamdem Nounga devoted substantial time to prayer, spiritual retreat, and evangelistic vision, motivated by love for God and concern for global salvation.
Despite this rapid rise and visible success, the ministry entered a period of sharp controversy when a wanted notice dated March 1, 2018, signed by the head of the Central Regional Division of the Judicial Police (DRPJ), formally stated that Kamdem Nounga Dieunedort, alias “General of God,” was being actively sought across the national territory for aggravated fraud, in alleged collusion with investors of “Gesem Group–Cameroon.”
In response, Rev. Kamdem Nounga released a video message rejecting the accusations and asserting that he was the target of a conspiracy. In his words, “They are looking for me through witchcraft without seeing me. They tried to kill me, but they couldn’t. Their only goal is to destroy my image and reputation. They want to prevent me from returning to Cameroon.”
Later in 2018, a court in Yopougon, Côte d’Ivoire, ruled that he was “not guilty” in a related case involving the same investment scheme. This ruling indicated that, at least within the Ivorian judicial process, he was not found criminally liable. Nevertheless, this outcome did not nullify or resolve the ongoing search order in Cameroon.
Following these developments, Rev. Kamdem Nounga relocated abroad around 2017–2018, residing for extended periods in Canada (Montréal) and Côte d’Ivoire, where he continued ministry activities and opened branches of his work outside Cameroon.
Beloved, the pulpit carries moral and spiritual authority; once that authority is used, directly or indirectly, to promote financial ventures, the state no longer sees a preacher alone, but a financial influencer capable of shaping economic decisions.
When a minister entangles the pulpit with private investment schemes, the message of salvation is drawn into the realm of commercial risk and criminal liability. Careful discernment in financial matters helps ministers maintain the integrity of their calling.
