Rev Dr Daniel Mbiwan - Servant Leadership in an Age of Spiritual Celebrity.
There was a moment that left a lasting apostolic lesson in the Body of Christ when Rev. Mrs. Becky Enenche, in righteous jealousy for the integrity of ministry, rebuked a certain minister saying, “Don’t kill my husband for me.” Not because the man carried a weapon, but because his posture before God’s servant, Dr. Paul Enenche, crossed the line between honour and man-worship.

It was a reminder that spiritual leaders are not sustained by exaggerated reverence, but by humility, and that they are called to point men to Christ, not to themselves. This apostolic posture is perfectly exemplified in the life and leadership of Rev. Dr. Mbiwan Daniel, Superintendent Emeritus of the Full Gospel Mission Cameroon.

He exemplified a leadership style marked by humility, integrity, simplicity, and genuine approachability, virtues consistently acknowledged by colleagues and peers throughout his decades of faithful service. Over more than thirty years in FGMC, he combined strategic oversight with pastoral sensitivity, guiding both leaders and congregations with a vision anchored in prayer, peace, and Christian maturity.

His ministry reflected a man secure enough in his calling to remain accessible and deeply connected to the people he served. Serving twelve years as Vice-General Superintendent and a decade as General Superintendent from 2012 to 2022, he cultivated trust rather than fear, collaboration rather than control. Any ministry that demands worship will eventually crush both the leader and the followers.

Authority under his watch did not intimidate; it edified. Even in retirement, his influence has not diminished but has matured. The title Superintendent Emeritus is not ceremonial; it is a testimony to a life that led well, finished honourably, and left behind bridges instead of walls.

For the rising generation of ministers, true leadership in the Kingdom is measured by the humility carried in guiding God’s flock. Ministers who isolate themselves behind titles, protocols, and artificial distance may gather crowds but forfeit the spiritual depth, trust, and lasting influence that come from being shepherds who walk among the people. Rev. Dr. Mbiwan Daniel’s life reminds us that we are not called to raise admirers, but disciples of Jesus Christ.
