MY TAKE ON THE ISSUE OF GUEST ARTISTES CHARGING BEFORE COMING TO MINISTER IN SONGS:
SHE WAS TO COME AND MINISTER FOR US FOR 5 MILLION NAIRA NOVEMBER LAST YEAR FOR JUST SUNDAY MORNING PRAISE SESSION:
AFTER A FRIEND OF MINE CALLED HER SHE STEPPED THE FEE DOWN TO 3 MILLION NAIRA, WITHOUT HOTEL AND FEEDING FOR 16 PERSONS:
SHE PLEADED I MUST NOT LET ANYONE KNOW IT WAS 3 MILLION SHE COLLECTED, SO THAT HER MARKET VALUE WILL NOT DROP:
FOR REASONS BEST KNOWN TO ME, I CHANGED MY MIND: AND DECIDED TO ADD A FEW MILLIONS TO HER FEE AND ORGANIZED CUSTOMIZED BAGS OF RICE SERVICE FOR MEMBERS AND FIRST TIMERS:
I WAS HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS I GOT WITHOUT HER COMING:
I SAID THE ABOVE TO ESTABLISH THE FOLLOWING:
1. It will be wrong of me to bring her and be complaining that her price is too much.
2. It will be wrong of me to be angry that someone is eating from her God given skill, gifts and talents. That is what it is meant for in the first place.
3. It will be wrong of me to see other guest artistes of 100k and go and bring the innocent woman and give her a bad name.
4. There is no product in the market that is not available for every person's financial level. Know your level and operate within the confines of that level.
5. You can't compare guest artistes with your choir members. It is like comparing guest speakers with your assistant pastors. They have their different roles within the vision. Otherwise after your assistant pastors finish ministering, they should be paid also.
6. The best of anointed pastors in Nigeria, have used those big names to fill their crusade grounds and church service. So you shouldn't pay for something that produces results more than even you on ground.
7. Most of them are doing that assignment full time, it is what they do for a living, to pay their bills, so you are dealing with a business and career person, not just a freelance singer. Know the difference.
8. If you have a one on one relationship with them, most of them can even minister for free. The woman that told me 5 million, ministered for a friend of mine for free. So build relationships before you need one.
IN CONCLUSION, IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEIR VALUE DON'T BRING THEM, ALLOW THOSE WHO KNOW THEIR WORTH AND VALUE TO BRING THEM.
I PREFER TO PAY MONEY TO BRING A GUEST ARTISTE, THAN TO PAY MONEY TO ATTEND SCHOOL OF MINISTRY. THAT IS ME, YOU CAN HAVE YOUR PREFERENCE FOR SCHOOL OF MINISTRY ABOVE GUEST ARTISTES WE ARE ALL ENTITLED TO OUR DIFFERENT CHOICES.
