IF YOU ARE INTO THE PROPHETIC MINISTRY OR YOU LOVE THE PROPHETIC, READ THIS!!!! IF YOU ARE NOT, AVOID THIS!
If all you have is word of knowledge, please use it and use it well...Prophesy until you can't prophesy anymore...Die prophesying and stop downplaying your gift on the premise of "the word"...
I will personally advise that you add good teaching to it and do your best to be as balanced as you can but never downplay your gift because you want to proof that the ministry you pastor is a word based ministry...There are many so called word based ministry with absolutely no word...Or at least assuming they are word based because they do nothing else but talk.
You are going to meet many so deceived fellows who will try to downplay what you carry inorder to exalt what they have.Dont fall for such deception...
People are going to brand you as a minister whose ministry won't last...They are going to tell you that a certain class of people can't come to your ministry(lies), they are going to tell you that ministry is not built on that gift and as true as they maybe, many of them are building on the only gift they have(word)....Many will claim they used to have it(many never had it).
I will tell you this right now, your best shot at life is that gift.Dont play with it.You may need to learn how to use it wisely and profitably but never disregard your gift because someone else says its not good for the ministry....
Now dont be so bothered about having a transgenerational ministry that you lose touch of what God has called you to do...No matter how hard you try, some ministries were not meant to be trasngenerational...
There are preachers God called who are not very educated but heavily gifted and no matter how hard they try, they may not always be the best word preachers but they may be the best at the manifestation of their gift...
We live in a wicked and selfish generation where if someone can't afford something, they do their best through cunningly deviced fables to downplay it...
I have seen powerful ministries shut down because the said ministers constantly fellowshipped with folks who will downplay their ministry because of their insecurities....
You downplay the prophetic but struggle to prophesy every Sunday morning.Now mind you, there is a difference between encouraging balance, encouraging the supremacy of the word in the church and making a man's ministry look totally irrelevant because he is good at what he does....
Its good to challenge men to be build ministry on the word(and what this even means is a talk for another day) but not at the expense of the gift God has given them.Im not in any any way encouraging men who are careless in handling the word of God simply because they have a gift..I'm not talking about people who put no effort in raising disciples but simple using the gift for showmanship and monetizing the ministry.Thats a different class of humans who have no business with this article.This is not for Prophetic Majors and Seer 5 of ikuku kingdom...I'm talking about serious folks here.
I'll end here; its true that ministry should be word based but this depends on what exactly you mean...
Its true that a ministry given to just prophecy and deliverance and absolutely no teaching or very little teaching will not be building disciples...and there should be a balance but this also true that many so called word based Ministries have no disciples to show for it.
If you have managed to read to this point, take note that the emphasis of the message is that the word is not against the gift.You can build a strong word based ministry with a very strong prophetic(word of knowledge) gift.Im not putting the word against the word of knowledge.Im saying do both and do them well.Dont try to identify as some word person.Just teach and grow in teaching as much as you can but prophesy as much as you can too.
