CORRECTING COMMON MISTAKES OF SINGLE MEN
1. As a single man, never take your life partner based on peer pressure. The issue is not getting married but staying in marriage. Don’t fall for the pressure of getting married because your mates are getting married. Be guided, else you will fall into wrong marriage.
2. Marrying without a job or useful work to do is a major error. Don’t marry any body’s daughter by faith, and expect her to suffer unnecessarily when you have no work. The first thing God gave man was work (a garden to keep and tend), before He gave him a woman (Genesis 2:15). It is a high level of deception to think that marriage will make things better when you are jobless.
3. Never allow your parents choose a life partner for you. This is one of the error that has destroyed the marital destiny of many young people. Your parents can advice you on marriage, but don’t let them choose a life partner for you since they won't be the ones to live with that person. No matter the emotional choice, make sure you are decisive about who you marry, because you are the one to live with the choice of whom you marry. Many young people are in toxic marriages because they left their choice of spouse to parental or external influences.
4. Preparing for wedding rather than marriage is an error that cripples the longevity of marriage. Many young people spend a lot on a one day event called, wedding without preparing for the lifetime journey called, marriage.
