The devil doesn't need you to sin, he just needs you distracted.
When we think of spiritual warfare, we imagine obvious attacks—temptation, sin, and outright rebellion against God. but sometimes, the enemy’s strategy isn’t to drag you into sin. sometimes, all he has to do is keep you distracted.
he doesn’t need you to turn away from God—just to be too busy to seek Him.
too busy to pray.
too busy to read your bible.
too busy to sit in silence and listen.
and before you know it, your faith starts feeling distant—not because God has moved, but because you’ve stopped making space for Him.
the enemy is cunning. he knows that if he can’t get you to walk away from your faith, he can at least make you complacent. and the best way to do that? filling your life with everything else until God is just an afterthought.
-distraction makes you spiritually weak.
- distraction makes you numb.
-distraction convinces you that God is distant.
what’s keeping you distracted?
sometimes, the distractions are obvious—endless scrolling, entertainment, busyness. sometimes, they’re subtle—overthinking, constant worrying, filling every quiet moment with noise. and the hardest part?
distraction doesn’t always come in the form of bad things. sometimes, it’s good things that have taken too much of your focus.
but here’s the truth: you always make time for what you prioritize.if you have time for social media, you have time to pray.
if you have time to text, you have time to open your bible.if you have time to binge-watch, you have time to sit in God’s presence.
but when you fix your eyes on Jesus, the distractions lose their power :)
because the moment you turn your attention back to Him, you’ll remember—He was never far away.
set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. – colossians 3:2
with love and undistracted devotion.
so check your focus. check your habits. ask yourself: what’s stealing my time, my attention, my devotion? because if the enemy can keep you distracted, he doesn’t need to do anything else.
