I Urge All Genuine Drama Ministers To Disregard This Publication - Owojori Olukayode (Martin Duru Sonya in abattior Wrote)

Eight years ago, we lost a young colleague to the cold hands of death. He had parents and younger siblings when the painful incident occurred.

On that fateful day, the destabilized relatives were thinking of how best to lure home the younger siblings from school to break the news to them. Unfortunately, the picture of the deceased and the news was posted online by some of his young acquaintances - not friends (without being critical, friends should be too devasted for such 'breaking news'.) The siblings saw it online that same day. Imagine someone picking a phone  to sight the picture of his/her brother with R.I.P just like that.

With utmost humility, I think we should learn to show some restraint with breaking news - both good and bad about the life of other people. Extra caution should be exercised about painful incident like the death of a human being. The death of a human being should be left for the appropriate authorities to announce at their own right time.

Who are the appropriate authorities?
1. The family.
2. The organization where the fellow belongs. (Ministry, Church, place of work etc)

Social media is turning the world to a naked place in exchange for recognition and reward. Many are consciously or unconsciously being blown away without showing decent restraint where necessary. I am of the humble opinion that the decent order when a person is dead is to allow the right people make the announcement in the time right for them. I perceive it as lack of order and respect to be breaking important news about other people whether living or dead.

I show more restraint because I am a Christian who believes in the miracle of the dead being raised back to life through the power of prayer. Many times, at the demise of loved ones, I have
prayed to God for their resurrection back to this world which never happened. I never gave up until I heard from God. The fact that it's yet to happen has not weathered my faith about God bringing back the dead to life. I don't give up easily. I don't share obituary easily.

We all are fleeting mist in this transient world. Gbogbo wa ló máa di ìtàn. I hope we live with eternity in view.
