Text: Matthew 5:28-30
The act of sin is first conceived in the heart. Sin is a product from the heart. In Gen 3 before Eve ate the fruit she looked at the fruit with lust.By human nature man sin daily in words, action,thoughts and imaginations ( 1 Chro 28:9). For as a man thinketh in his heart so is he. ( Prov 23: 7).
One of the devices Satan uses to penetrate us is through our weaknesses.Human weakness is an insignificant cankerworm that dwells in the lives of Christians.It kills us everyday knowingly or unknowingly. The mission of Satan is to kill ,steal and destroy God's plans for mankind.The weakness of man has made Christains to remain a slave to sin and many are doing nothing to come out from this shakles of Satan.
Human weaknesses have brought down many Great Men of God in the Bible days . David, Solomon, Sampson,Gehazi Judas Iscaroit and many others battled with the sin of the flesh.The inability to beat the flesh landed them to grevious scars in their ministries. ( 1cor 9:27).
The devil is cunning, not wise. When he sees a Christian determined not to commit sin, he puts strategies in place to ensure such a christian falls. He will locate your weakness,then creates a channel through which he can bring you down.The weakness in man is already an open door for Satan to live in man.For example once the devil discovered Moses’ weakness of anger, he began to find ways to get him angry, so he could misbehave. He used Miriam but Moses overcome (Numbers 12:10-13); he also used the Israelites to get him angry by successfully tempting them to worship the golden calf (Exodus 32:1-6). On Moses’ return from the mountain, he got so angry with the Israelites that he broke the tablets God had just given him (Exodus 32:19). The devil knew anger was Moses’ weakness so he continued using the Israelites to annoy him. At another time, Moses let the murmurings of the Israelites got to him and he lost his temper terribly (Numbers 20:10-12). The devil had him in his hands. Since the devil has made it a point of duty to discover and exploit the weakness of all Christians, what should we do? Block every channel he would use to employ that weakness against you. Satan's delight is to see God's children fall in sin and he uses the weakness of man as a gate way to bring man down.Some of these gate ways include Lust of the flesh, pride,Anger, stealing or shady businesses (419),envy,lies telling , slander, sexual immorality, alcohol and smoking habits ... James 4:7 says we should resist the devil and he will depart from us. The inability to resist Satan and his devices has landed many Christains today into sin and regretting ends.Satan will always try to introduce more provocative situations to lure you into sin.
Cover Up is a very dangerous weapon of Satan and a channel to human weakness. There are some Christains who will fall into sin and will always want to Cover Up rather than admitting it and asking God for forgiveness.This is a destructive defense mechanism which keeps us under satanic bondage. It's either they will argue, make up stories or even get angry unnecessarily to cover up their sin. We must be aware of this channel and satanic device.If you are guilty of any in the above mentioned channels, start working on it NOW!! because you are trampling on a dangerous ground. If Moses had blocked the channel of anger early enough, perhaps he would have overlooked the murmurings of the Israelites and reached the promised land.Child of God, what is that channel or area in your life that is making you to battle with/in sin?
What is that habit of yours that doesnot please God? You might not like doing it, but you find your self doing it.Begin to tell God to help you by seperating you from this habit.
Learn to overcome it by dealing without it ( Resist It) and you will survive...
